What is Blood Type Personality?
Blood type personality divination treats the four ABO blood types — A, B, O, and AB — as each having its own characteristic personality traits and compatibilities. It became a part of popular culture in 20th-century Japan, but no scientific basis has been confirmed for a link between blood type and personality.

Origins & History
The idea of linking blood type with personality spread in Japan following a paper published in 1927 by Tokyo educator Takeji Furukawa. In the 1970s, books by Masahiko Nomi became bestsellers, and personality images associated with each blood type — such as Type A being meticulous and Type B being easygoing — became firmly established as part of popular culture.
In this way, blood type divination is a relatively recent popular culture that took shape and spread in 20th-century Japan. Medically, blood type is essentially no more than a difference in red blood cell antigens, and multiple academic studies to date have found no statistically significant relationship between blood type and personality traits, so it is treated as a popular classification method with no scientific basis.
